Ferry happiness, with a rad new black tee (one of my favourite local indies)
English Bay in all its other-worldly glory
Rathtrevor Park near Nanaimo
Medium two-cream, please and thank you! One of a hundred I put back this summer
Not just the trucks and the clothes are super-sized
Those infamous 9 boxes that I paid to store for 7 years. Thanks for helping me get them out Rees (and for storing a couple stragglers, Nico and Mom & Dad)
View to North Vancouver from the Stanley Park Seawall
Get yer new house folks. 'Starting from the $1.2M's...' I can't believe anyone can print that without breaking out into laughter. WTF
View from the Seawall to Lions Gate Bridge and beyond to West Van and the British Properties
Another epic Lions Gate Bridge view from the Seawall
Sunburst pose in front of the 2010 Olympic Inukshuk
The view from Rees' place where I stayed in the first week
Ferry trip number 1 to Nanaimo and the Island beyond
Tinkling on Linda's piano (with one of her beautiful pieces). Actually I was going to record 'So Courageous' on piano but I decided that I am not a good piano player.
The view from down the street, in Qualicum Beach. I am not at all a flaggy kind of guy (!!!) but this one turned out pretty epic
A bloody expensive rasher of bacon. This was at the bottom of an entire bacon section-- yes, there is a bacon section in the Quality Foods in Qualicum
Epic view from the BC Ferry
One of my favourite alcohol-free beers... the President's Choice 'Red Brew'
Until Wendy told me this sticker had to do with the HOV lanes (high-occupancy vehicle) I couldn't believe how silly this sticker was. I still think it's pretty goofy.
When we would walk along Lynn Valley Road (or drive, for that matter) to get to school as kids we would always pass this intersection. Somehow walking this road back to the Boulevard after pints at the Black Bear this time seemed to take hella less time
I arrived at the Bus Station to catch the EBus from Vancouver to Kelowna at 5am... a pretty grandiose old place down on the Eastside. I wish the trains were still running.
Epic drive along Okanagan Lake from Kelowna to Penticton with Zarto
This was an elk I think?.. we saw four or five wild animals in the space of an hour, heading up to Rossland
The kind of rainy drive along a Canadian stretch of highway that just begs for a Blue Rodeo song
More Blue Rodeo, although this one is also pretty Hip
Hamburg's finest industrial brewery, represented in the Okanagan! That was a surprise. For the record, you cannot get this super-charged 7.0% beer in Europe
Doing 18 holes of frisbee golf with Zarto in Rossland
We were walking back from the bar in downtown Rossie and Lynn had this great idea to chalk-trace me. I provided the wordiness
This one's for you Dan-- next stop, Idstein!
Cruising the BC Autobahn
Trucks! Trucks! Trucky truck trucks!
Snapped from the bus
Up on the farm with Jenette in Kamloops
Along the canyons and through the hills with Giulius
Wind-blown and blown away
A super rad truck in Lilloet
Convoy kids, Lillooet
Never been a better time to check those brakes, foo
Peach? Orange? What was that tint again? I feel like going for a run every time I see this picture (I don't see it very often)
Taking in Pavilion Lake before bravely swimming er
Breath-taking drive along the Duffy Lake Road
More breath-taking Duffy Lake
A lake which was really schön
Distance narrowing along our way to Squam! Great drive with the G-ster
Read it and remember, folks. Feeding bears is for inconsiderate idiots
Cat Lake and the best swim of the summer. G and I were surrounded by memories of teenage hooliganism the whole time. Those were some of the best days of my life.
I found a moment to dine at Andrea's and have a classic lasags-- every bit as mind blowing as it was 30 years ago. The vibe is gone and the underage drinking is no more but wow, just wow.
The view from Keith's... a stunning perspective of the city that I had never taken in before
This mind-warping structure is just one of several crazy architectural works in Vancouver. I just don't get how they can make things like this stand.
Riding the Seawall along False Creek... I love this quiet little in-between stretch between Science World and English Bay. I used to ride over the Burrard Street bridge all the time which is WAY BETTER since they put in the bike lanes.
Sundown with tons of chilling Vancouverites on the edge of English Bay
My gorgeous crash pad at Nico & Ari's, with view to English Bay
Marlene took this one of me having just such a beautiful time with friends at the Vancouver show up on top, at Nico & Ari's. Insane location and just so much love floating around!
Loving life big time
Scene of the scene at Nico & Ari's for our perfect little coastal show
Just the best auto-repair job I have ever seen.
Just the most goddamned expensive plate of cheap pizza I have ever seen.
Just the swiftest piece of not-so-subtle marketing I have ever seen
Granville and Georgia, right where we all used to wait for the last 240 at 2:05am. Missing that bus was walking for three hours home to the Boulevard
More epic architecture downtown
Both the Red Racer pilsner and IPA alcohol-frees are fricking delicious
Classic Seawall, starting out from English Bay
Bikes and more bikes-- they're taking over! Two wheels are so cool and easy, or even just two shoes IMHO
Another postcard from English Bay... sigh
This hotdog stand has been here forever, I think... and so has the Sylvia Hotel behind
No comment
If there was ever a food that screamed out Don't Eat Me it would be...
I just love this washroom door, and it belongs to the Black Goose Inn, at Rathtrevor Provincial Park. Like honestly people

Coffee bench break, on a Headwaters tour with Sandy
Classic, timeless Lynn Valley walk
